Guangzhou is part metropolis and part cultural gem. Flowers bloom all year long and this trait has earned the city the nickname "City of Flowers". Amble along the streets or gardens and take in the perfumed air.
Ascott Guangzhou puts you right in the financial hub of Tianhe, where glossy office buildings are populated with Cantonese restaurants and interspersed with shopping malls. The locals are big fans of yum cha and will readily agree to a meal of beautifully wrapped dim sum and fragrant tea.
Two subway lines (line 1 and 3) pass through the district, so you can enjoy convenient access to major landmarks. The Museum of the Western Han Dynasty Mausoleum of the Nanyue King promises a unique experience, with the 2,000-year-old tomb and its array of burial artefacts.
In additions, you can easily check off two of the Eight Attractions of Guangzhou. Erected in 1890, Chen Jia Ci is a museum that houses Guangdong folk and handicraft. Gaze upon majestic courtyards, halls and buildings that embody the very essence of the Guangdong architectural style.
Then, make your way to East Railway Station, where a spectacular man-made waterfall awaits. Stretching 80 metres long and standing at eight metres tall, the waterfall provides a soothing backdrop for reading and people watching.
For endless entertainment, head to Galaxy Cinema or catch a football match at Tianhe Sports Centre Stadium. Alternatively, indulge in a relaxing dip at Ascott Guangzhou's outdoor swimming pool. Head to the sauna and steam room where you can forget the stress of daily life.
