Ascott Sathorn Bangkok Named 'Best Serviced Residence In Asia-Pacific' For The Third Time

Bangkok, Thailand, 22 September 2011 – The Ascott Limited’s (Ascott) premier Ascott Sathorn Bangkok has received top honours at the coveted 2011 Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Awards. This is the third time that the property has been named ‘Best Serviced Residence in Asia-Pacific’. Ascott Sathorn Bangkok was also the most preferred serviced residence in 2008 and 2009. Ascott’s two other serviced residences – Ascott Raffles Place Singapore and Somerset Lake Point Bangkok – took second and third place respectively in this year’s awards.

Besides the ‘Best Serviced Residence’ award, Ascott has also clinched ‘Best Serviced Residence Brand’ for the eighth consecutive year in the 2011 Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Awards. The awards reflect the highest accolade which discerning readers of Business Traveller bestow on travel and hospitality providers. They are based on the results from the yearly Readers’ Poll conducted and interpreted by market research leader Synovate.

Mr Mark Chan, Ascott’s Country General Manager for Thailand, said: “We are extremely happy and honored that Ascott Sathorn Bangkok has won this award for the third time and Ascott’s properties had taken the top three spots in the ‘Best Serviced Residence’ category. At Ascott, we create memorable experiences for travellers through our unique LIFE approach to service excellence – providing a Local touch; respecting our guest’s Individuality; providing the Feeling of home; and Exceeding expectations. We would like to thank our customers for making Ascott their preferred home when they travel. The awards have reinforced our leadership position in the industry and we will continue to innovate and create more value for our customers.”

Ascott Sathorn Bangkok enjoys a prime location in the heart of Bangkok’s business district. It is close to major business centres and tourist attractions such as the Empire Tower, Bangkok City Tower and Royal Sports Club, and is a short walk to the Chong Nonsi sky train station. The serviced residence lavishes guests with luxurious interiors and comprehensive amenities which include function and conference facilities, business centre services, meeting rooms, a spa and one of the city’s finest gymnasiums.

Situated in Singapore’s bustling central business district, Ascott Raffles Place Singapore is surrounded by financial institutions, offices of multinational corporations, fine restaurants and attractions. Through a S$60 million restoration effort, Ascott had transformed the former Asia Insurance Building, which was Southeast Asia’s tallest tower in the 1950s, into the exclusive Ascott Raffles Place Singapore. Today, travellers can look forward to a unique experience at the luxurious serviced residence combining modern comforts and the features of a heritage icon.

Strategically located within Bangkok’s central business district, Somerset Lake Point Bangkok is minutes away from embassies, banks, shopping centres, restaurants and entertainment spots. The nearby Asok skytrain station and Sukhumvit subway station enable travellers to get around Bangkok easily. In addition to its extensive business support services and recreational facilities, Somerset Lake Point Bangkok provides an indoor kids’ playroom and is thus ideal for executives with children.
