Climate - Chennai has a warm, tropical climate that flits between two seasons - hot and monsoon. The months between April and June are almost punishing with an unfaltering heat, while December is the peak of the monsoon season. The best time to visit is between December and February when temperatures are milder.

Etiquette - It is important to be respectful when visiting a religious site. Always remove your shoes before stepping into someone’s house or a place of worship. Tipping is not mandatory but is a nice gesture if the services offered were exemplary.

Currency - The currency in Chennai is the Indian Rupee. Daily expenses such as food and transport should not amount to much, unless you decided to splash out in a lavish way. Always keep some small notes on you, and the rest stashed away in a safe at your accommodation. ATMs are widely available and credit cards are accepted for larger establishments

Dos and Dont’s - Avoid drinking tap water and stick only to the bottled forms. You are also encouraged not to eat raw vegetables and fruits.
