From an exciting day trip to thrilling theme parks, here are five recommended activities for your visit to Petaling Jaya.

Hit the links. At the Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club in Petaling Jaya, golfers can tackle a challenging 18-hole course imagined by Australian designer Ross Watson, then kick back at one of four onsite bars and restaurants. Swimming pools, a gymnasium, and children play areas are among Horizon’s other facilities.

Let loose with LEGOs. Located in the heart of Petaling Jaya, LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort is Malaysia’s first international theme park and one of the area’s biggest tourist attractions. A water park and Star Wars Miniland are among LEGOLAND’s seven crowd-pleasing themed areas.

Go bargain hunting. Head to nearby Johor Premium Outlets for some of the best bargain shopping around. Here you’ll find 130 discount outlets for such international fashion brands as Calvin Klein, Kate Spade, and Burberry, along with more than 10 casual restaurants and cafés. Expect savings of 50% or more.

Meet cartoon characters. LEGOLAND® isn’t the only top-class theme park in Petaling Jaya. At Puteri Harbour Theme Park, kids of all ages will love exploring Sanrio Hello Kitty Town, riding the rails in Thomas Town, and having pictures taken with Barney, Bob the Builder, and other characters.

Take a day trip. Singapore, located just across the Johor Strait, is easily accessible by car or bus. The Lion City has plenty to offer every type of traveller, from one of Southeast Asia’s most diverse food scenes to excellent museums, lively nightlife, and shopping galore. If the two Petaling Jaya theme parks aren’t enough, there’s another one, Universal Studios Singapore, on Singapore’s Sentosa island, too.
